Hi,
We are Fiona and Mark and are retired police detectives. We both love animals and have had many pets over the years. We also enjoy the garden and generally keeping the place all neat and tidy. We are both non smokers and currently have no pets. We have lived in rural surroundings with no shops or amenities in the area for many years so are very able to survive in properties in rural settings should that be the case. Equally we can enjoy the hustle and bustle of town and city living for short breaks!
We are a friendly, honest, reliable and clean and tidy husband and wife team. We enjoy walking and the countryside and experiencing living in different areas of the UK with a range of different animals to care for. We are currently enjoying our early retirement travelling and enjoying our holiday home in rural Andalusia in between house sits. We registered with House Sitters UK in June 22 and have already successfully completed over thirty house sits and have confirmed a good number of both new and repeat house sits that we are very much looking forward to and we are now taking bookings for 2025! Fiona & Mark are absolutely delightful. We cannot recommend them enough. They worked incredibly hard to care for our animals and home for over two weeks, and they kept in touch with us with regular updates, while we were away.

Fiona and Mark are great house sitters who will never let you down. They communicate regularly, prior and during the house sit, making you feel at ease that everything is being well looked after. When we arrived home our dog Jesse was very content and the house was spotless.
I couldn't ask for more and would recommend them to anyone considering a house sitter.

They are such a warm couple and we were immediately assured that we were leaving our cat Monti and our home in good and safe hands. Above and beyond this, they endured a burst water tank and cleared the flood and drenched wardrobe and belongings, washing and drying towels and garments etc. They responded so quickly and getting all under control with expediency. Our first experience with house sitters, but Fiona and Mark have set the bar very high! The house, garden and pets were all very well looked after - we returned to find everything just as we had left it, only tidier and with school uniform clean and ready for the new term!
Fiona and Mark took care of everything, and even made sure the house and grounds were in order before and after a storm came through the area. Communication was really easy, Fiona and Mark read the information we sent them and used their initiative to work the house out - we had regular helpful updates, but were not glued to the phone as they just took care of everything during their stay.

Due to us having to rearrange our trip we had two evenings with Fiona and Mark before we went away. This gave us added confidence that we had left our house and family pets in safe hands. We received many photos and had great communication while we were away, and returned to a clean and tidy house. Mark & Fiona are simply the best!
They looked after our dog and house as if their own.
Before the sit we had regular contact to check everything was still good for the sit.
When we first met them, Ella our Labrador immediately bonded which was a great comfort.
During our holiday Mark and Fiona gave us regular updates including photos and videos.
Upon our return Ella was so content and our house was cleaner than when we left!
We cannot thank Mark & Fiona enough.

They were keen to meet all of the family and learn the routines of our dogs whilst they were in their care. Have just got back from our two week cruise. I can't thank Fiona and Mark enough for taking such good care of Harley and our home it was immaculate on our return. They kept us upto date with how he was doing he's lovely walks and sent lovely photos Would absolutely recommend them both.

Fiona & Mark were our very first house / pet sitters so obviously we were a little nervous. Well we had no need to be. They were absolutely brilliant, they respected our home like it was their own and took the best care of our spaniel Charlie. They sent us daily pictures and videos and Charlie had the best time. They made our holiday so relaxing as we did not have to worry about anything at home. Thank you to them both and we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

From the moment we met Fiona and Mark we felt our pets and home were in very capable hands! We left for India the following day and didn't worry for the whole of our holiday! Our son had to pop in during their stay and he said all the dogs were completely 'chilled' and barely said hello to him! The house was spotless when we came home (quite difficult with a moulting Labrador!), beds were stripped and there was nothing I needed to do! We thoroughly recommend Fiona and Mark as caring, ... They took on board the routines that we have and when we left we were happy that our home was in safe hands. Whilst away they communicated as agreed and when there was some storm damage informed us and carried out what we asked them to do. We arrived back to a very clean home and clean houses for the birds. ... MOREWell...what can I say. If you are fortunate enough to have Fiona and Mark look after your home and animals then you are very lucky! We had good communication with them before they arrived. They took on board the routines that we have and when we left we were happy that our home was in safe hands. I can only describe Fiona & Mark as exceptional housesitters!!
They provided perfect care & attention to every one of the varied animals in our smallholding, accompanied by regular pictures & WhatsApp updates which was hugely reassuring. There were a few issues with the house & sheep while we were away & they dealt with these amazingly well.
We were a little apprehensive leaving two 'strangers' looking after what is quite a big undertaking here for nearly a fortnight but we need not ... MOREI can only describe Fiona & Mark as exceptional housesitters!!

Fab Fiona and Mark ... would highly recommend these two for anyone looking for sitters. Communication was excellent, they arrived on time and we instantly warmed to them.
Whilst we were away Fiona kept us updated on the cat's behaviour regularly and left the house spotlessly clean and tidy for when we returned. They also 'passed' the neighbour's test and were invited around for coffee and a chat :) (we have lovely neighbours).

It was lovely to have Fiona and Mark back at the house, our little Millie remembered them both and went running up to them when they arrived. The house was well looked after and lovely and clean when we came home (cleaner than when my cleaner does it!) They looked after all the animals and even went to the extra effort of feeding the sheep hay when they ate more than we were expecting them to.
Millie (the dog) was walked every day and all the animals were well looked after.
Fiona's homemade ... MOREIt was lovely to have Fiona and Mark back at the house, our little Millie remembered them both and went running up to them when they arrived. The house was well looked after and lovely and clean when we came home (cleaner than when my cleaner does it!) They looked after all the animals and even went to the extra effort of feeding the sheep hay when they ate more than we were expecting them to.

We were in a little rush to leave and we left the place in such a mess, only to arrive back to everything clean and tidy.
Both our cats were their normal relaxed selves on our return, it was as if we never even left.
